GHOSTING

Image
by Nana Yaa Ntiwaa Asare In today's fast-paced world, it's possible to find ourselves disregarding texts or calls from individuals we know for no apparent reason. This behavior is often termed as ghosting . While this behavior is becoming increasingly common, it's important to consider the impact it has on our relationships with others.  Ghosting, according to Urban dictionary, is when a person  cuts  off all  communication  with their friends or the person they're dating, with zero warning or notice before hand. You'll mostly see them avoiding  friend's  phone calls, social media, and avoiding them in public. Going silent on people without explanation is often seen as a form of rejection, and it can leave the other person feeling confused, hurt, or even angry.  This can damage relationships and create a sense of mistrust between people.  Why do we go silent on  people in the first place?  Could it be that we simply don't have the t...

FLOWER GIRL

Image
FLOWER GIRL by Nana Yaa Ntiwaa Asare I'm here smiling from ear to ear since the beginning of this week but then I remembered something that happened 19 years ago during my parents' wedding ceremony! Yes people! Today marks the 19th wedding anniversary of my parents whom I lovingly call Paparas and Mamaras! These two have been through the real deal of thick and thin yet still standing. Cheers to long life in good health even as they grow old together.🥂 Now back to me reminiscing! I remember how I bragged to my friends that I'll be the little bridesmaid for my parents' wedding; I used to live with my paternal grandmother at Konongo-Odumase by then. I went on and on to even show my friends the new dress my parents had sent to me all the way from Kumasi. The bragging rights were definitely mine. The time for the wedding came and I went for the wedding with my grandmother and other family members. Ladies and gentlemen, here comes my 'ntam k3se3'(Don't even kno...

H E A L E D

Image
As a female, I felt everything concerning my health literally revolves around my reproductive health; I just couldn't come to terms especially in 2021 that my menses won't show up until I'm put on medications. Oh yes! I've secretly battled with the secondary level of AMENORRHEA solidly for 8 years since my level 100 days in the University . Secondary amenorrhea refers to the absence of three or more periods in a row by someone who has had periods in the past ( mayoclinic.org ). ...and my menses were not absent for just a month but for 8 consecutive years which resulted in mood swings, forgetfulness and bloated stomach. What medicine had I not taken?  I was frustrated! Talk of abibiduro(herbal medicine), hardwater, medicated foods, changing diets, inculcating loads and loads of fruits into my diet, among others. I've cried for years with the first half of 2021 being the boiling point! I've been mad at God! I lost my faith along the line like real bad coup...

YOUR SILVER SPOON

Image
YOUR SILVER SPOON by  Nana Yaa Ntiwaa Asare Have you ever paused to think about what you have as an individual? Have you for a brief second pondered on how you find certain things normal? Sometimes, we even lay claim and think the world should revolve around us because literally everything an individual is supposed to have we have. Thus, we sometimes feel entitled to certain things and people. What if "silver spoon" is not always in relation to being born in affluence?                         N O W     P A U S E!                           Take a breather! Perhaps, you're privileged to have food to eat three times daily plus some snacks and fruits taken intermittently after meal while a single or even a quarter meal for a day is someone's MIRACLE! Reminiscing! Image:©nayaanaville.blogspot.com Remembering when I used to live with my Grandma durin...

MAD MAN

Image
M A D    M A N by Nana Yaa Ntiwaa Asare I happened to had had a tight day but this one got to me. Ei… lunatics of our days! I was on my way to my hood from a workshop somewhere last year, and my companion who happened to be behind the wheels was pushed into a different lane with no warning by a careless driver. My companion had to drive on the lane he was 'forced' to take without finding any U-Turn to join the right lane. As he was busily driving and muttering to himself, I was also giggling to his annoyance. Yeah, I’m that good at annoying people. You just have to pray for an extra big heart to contain me and my annoying self! Fast forward, as we drove on in an attempt to find the right lane, a mad man (lunatic) with a big sack slung at his back caught my attention.  He, the lunatic, was standing in between the lanes as a matter of fact the safe lane. I observed that as the cars were moving, he stood looking at the direction the vehicles wer...
